3D printing in dentistry produces dental appliances and models layer by layer from digital designs. Applications include surgical guides for implant placement, clear aligner models, temporary crowns, denture bases, and anatomical models. The technology reduces turnaround from weeks to hours and enables chairside production when integrated with intraoral scanners and CAD/CAM.
